Cary and Margaret Delery
Since 1978 there has been three words spoken around our house that
conjure up memories of catalogue construction marathons & a phone
ringing off the hook (no cordless back then) and that has been,
The Historical Shop. In the twenty plus years Cary & Yvonne have
strived to make the Historical Shop what it is today--a successful
business that represents honesty and fair business. Now it's time to
meet the people that make this business run. We will be adding
more detailed introductions in the future so check back with us to
learn more about those involved with the Historical Shop.
Cary Delery spends a lot of his time since retiring from 33 years of
service to Sears heading off to shows across the country in order to
procure items that he feels that his customers would be interested in
collecting. Cary also designs and produces the illustrated
catalogue. Some years ago, an article on Cary appeared in the
Civil War Courier. We are in the process of locating and getting
permission to reproduce that article on this site. If anyone has
a copy of the article please contact us as we are having trouble
locating a copy.
Margaret Delery has been a very important part of the Historical Shop
since her and Cary got married in July 2004. Margaret is the backbone of
the company. She has been
instrumental in not only keeping the books organized, but has also
enabled Cary to spend more time on the floor working with dealers and
customers alike. Margaret is also credited for assisting with phone
orders, invoicing, packaging, as well as orders taken at shows.
Christopher and his
wife, Lisa, are old and new hats to the Historical Shop
team. Both have labored to complete College Degrees in
Business Administration (Lisa) and Management Information Systems
(Chris) from USL & the University of Memphis.
As the current
site developers and managers of the Historical Shop website, they look forward in helping you find
what you are looking for.
