5172 - 1860 ELECTION PATRIOTIC IMPRINT, 3" X 5.25", "Old Abe the man for the times," vignette of Lincoln without his beard, flags to either side, Liberty cap above, published by Cas Bell, Hartford, Conn. Goldenrod color paper. Red, white, blue medium sized USA to right. We believe that this patriotic imprint was a sample for a patriotic cover as this is the top of a cover although showing no signs of ever having flaps. Found in what we believe was a stationary store sample book. Bell sided with his home state of Tennessee and the Confederacy.
