New Madrid, Corinth, Iuka, Holly Springs, Arkansas Campaigns,
operations against Mobile and occupation, Fort Blakeley, Spanish Fort,
escorted General Canby to the surrender of Dick Taylor's western army,
border duty along the Rio Grande in Texas just postwar, mustered out

- 7TH MICHIGAN CAVALRY SUTLER SCRIPT, WAY AND STEVENS,
3.75" X 7.5", Jackson, Michigan, Sutler script by the
soldier authorizing the soldier to allow the paymaster to deduct pay
to pay the Sutler WAY AND STEVENS. The 7th Michigan Cavalry was
in the Michigan Brigade commanded by General George A. Custer. It saw
extensive service at Gettysburg, Yellow Tavern, Kilpatrick's Raid, the
Rapidan and the Shenandoah Campaigns and finally at Appomattox. Before
it was disbanded in December 1865, it fought in Indians Campaigns.
Issued December 1865. Fine, extremely

10TH MICHIGAN
CAVALRY, served
extensively in the Tennessee theater chasing Morgan and Wheeler's
cavalry. On the 4th of September 1864, the regiment participated
in the surprising and routing of Gen. John H. Morgan's force at
Greenville. In this engagement, Gen. Morgan was killed and a large
number of his men captured, among whom were Morgan's staff. On
the 30th of September, the regiment assisted in driving the enemy from
their position at Carter's Station. During this month it was
constantly engaged in scouting and pursuing the forces of Morgan and
Wheeler. In October, it was employed in picket and in scouting. The
regiment later served at Knoxville and in Stoneman's Raid into SW
Virginia. Mustered out in November 1865.

owed the Sutler from the named soldier's pay. B. F. Farrington
is written in manuscript over the printed name of H. K.
Dickerson. The paymaster form is docketed on the back by the
soldier attesting to the correct amount owed to the Sutler and that he
was treated fairly. November 1865 at the muster out point Jackson,

MICHIGAN INFANTRY, SUTLER H. K. DICKERSON,
4" X 7.5", Sutler H. K. Dickerson, Jackson, Michigan,
September 1865. Sutler script authorizing the paymaster to pay the
name Sutler, black imprint, unlisted in Keller, very
fine. The 11th Michigan Infantry was assigned to front-line combat
duty in the Army of the Cumberland in the Western Theater and
participated in most of its leading battles and campaigns, including
the Chattanooga Campaign and the 1864 Atlanta Campaign. This Sutler
script was issued at the final settlement when the regiment was
disbanded at Jackson, Michigan in September 1865. Some light stains...............................................................$95.00
